Create your own version of 'Chewandswallow'
You can take an imaginary trip to a town like no other when “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” hits the movie theaters on Sept. 18. Based on the popular book written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett, the animated movie focuses on the town of Chewandswallow, a place where weather is synonymous with food and drink.
When it rains, down comes juice and soup. When it snows, it snows mashed potatoes. Hamburgers soar through the air when it’s windy. After giant meatballs and a tomato sauce tornado crush the town, inhabitants of Chewandswallow escape to a new life — and lifestyle.
If you haven’t read this awesome book yet, there’s still time to do so before seeing the movie! After reading the book, keep in the “meatball mood” while putting together a collage depicting your own version of Chewandswallow.
Clip photos from magazines or grocery ads from the newspaper. You can also add your own touches to the artwork with crayons, markers or colored paper.
